Eventide H9 Harmonizer Gen 2

The H9 Gen 2 puts Eventide's full H90 algorithm library into the compact single-box format that started it all. Pick one algorithm from over 74 — spanning reverb, delay, pitch, modulation, and vocal processing — dial it in on the front panel, and switch presets live with seamless spillover so your tails never get cut short.

Compact format. Full-size algorithm library.

Why guitarists choose the H9 Gen 2

  • Full H90 and H9 Max algorithm libraries onboard — 74+ algorithms, including the Harmonizer+ vocal suite, so the compact footprint no longer means a smaller sound palette
  • 1,000+ factory presets, with H9 Classic preset compatibility — bring an existing preset library straight over
  • Seamless spillover between presets keeps reverb and delay tails ringing naturally through a preset change — built for live use
  • Flexible routing — Wet/Dry and Pre/Post options cover a simple pedalboard setup, a mixer send, or a mic-fed vocal chain
  • Two Exp/Ctl jacks for an expression pedal or aux switches, plus true 5-pin MIDI In/Out-Thru and USB-C
  • Two programmable footswitches cycling through Select, Bank, Perform, Preset, and Parameter modes, so a huge preset library stays manageable at your feet

Controls

Control Function
Footswitches (x2) Programmable across Select, Bank, Perform, Preset and Parameter modes
Encoder & display Select algorithms and edit parameters on the pedal
Exp/Ctl 1 & 2 1/4" TRS jacks for expression pedal or aux switch
MIDI In / Out-Thru 5-pin DIN, for program changes and real-time control
USB-C Connects to the Eventide Control app (Mac/Windows) and carries MIDI
Routing Wet/Dry and Pre/Post, for pedalboard, mixer send, or vocal setups

Power & compatibility

Requires a dedicated 12V DC, center-positive supply (5.5/2.5mm barrel), drawing up to 1000mA — a standard 9V pedalboard rail will not power this unit. A 12V 1A universal power supply (US/UK/EU/AUS plugs) ships in the box.

I/O is two 1/4" mono jacks in and out, instrument or line level — drop it in front of an amp, in an effects loop, or across a stereo rig.

Note: Bluetooth support for the Eventide Control app (Mac/iPad) is listed as coming soon. For computer editing today, connect via USB-C.

Looking for something different?

  • Need two algorithms running at once with independent routing? See the H90 Harmonizer or H90 Dark
  • Want the previous-generation compact unit? The H9 Max Dark offers 52 algorithms in the same format
  • Running vocals into your H9? Pair it with the MixingLink Mic Preamp for documented mic and MIDI keyboard routing

FAQ

What's new in the Gen 2 compared to the original H9?
Under the hood, it runs on modern ARM processing, and it now ships with the complete H90 and H9 Max algorithm libraries — 74+ algorithms, 1,000+ onboard presets, and seamless spillover when you switch between them.

Does it run two algorithms simultaneously?
No — each H9, this one included, runs a single algorithm at a time. If you need two algorithms working together in one Program, that's what the H90 is built for.

Are my existing H9 presets compatible?
Yes. Eventide confirms full H9 Classic preset compatibility, so any presets you've already built will load right in.

What are the power requirements?
A 12V DC center-positive supply, up to 1A, via a 5.5/2.5mm barrel connector. Eventide includes a 12V 1A universal adapter in the box — note that a typical 9V pedalboard power supply won't be enough to run it.

Is Bluetooth supported?
Not yet — Eventide has Bluetooth for the Control app (Mac/iPad) listed as coming soon. For now, connect via USB-C to edit from Mac or Windows.

Can I run a microphone into it?
Yes, provided you run it through a preamp first. Eventide's documented setup uses the MixingLink to route mic and MIDI keyboard signals into the pedal.
