An incredibly rare find - handmade in Japan under Gallagher brand, Cutaway Nylon String Concert Guitar.
Built in in 1990s at the Terada Musical Instruments workshop (A division of Arai Trading Company, Japan).
Back then they held a permission from the Gallagher US to build under the Gallagher trade mark for the domestic market. You can tell from the pictures that the quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail is amazing.
There's quite a few steel string Gallagher Japan guitars available on the market but this particular one (nylon string model with electronics) is extremely rare.
The guitar sounds great both plugged in and unplugged. It has a fast neck, very comfortable to play.
The condition of this guitar is excellent considering it's around 30 years old.
There's just a few minor signs of use that can only be seen up close.
The guitar has been kept in a room with humidity set to 50% at 25 degrees (75F).
The neck is straight, action is low, very easy to play.
The tone of this guitar is very rich.
Good resonance and balance of frequencies with lots of pleasant nuances.
It has very good volume and sustain.
There's ample amount of brightness and warmth in the low end.
It's set up with D'Addario Carbon (High Tension)
The active pick up is powered by a 9-volt battery that is secured inside the body where the electronics block is located. Easily replaced with bass strings loosened or removed.
