Greco EG-550 LP Lemon Drop 1990 Flame Maple Top
Greco EG-550 LP Lemon Drop 1990 Flame Maple Top
A gorgeous Greco LP in excellent condition.
The quality of Japanese Gibson clones from Greco is incredible.
The work coming out of Matsumoku factory was top notch. The "Super Real" series of Fender and Gibson copies they released in the 80s-90s is legendary which made Gibson execs scratch their heads real hard.
You can't go wrong with a Greco if you want that powerful LP sound and awesome looks for a fraction of the price.
Here's an excerpt from Premier Guitar magazine on Greco:
"By the mid-to-late 1970s, the company was making a Les Paul copy that rivaled the craftsmanship of its authentic U.S. counterpart—at prices far below those of the real McCoy."
This Greco EG is an exquisite example of those guitars. It features a beautiful Lemon Drop finish, bolt-on construction with medium tenon joint, Kluson-style tuners and gold top-hat control knobs. The only discernible difference would be its headstock, which is slightly narrower and longer than a typical Les Paul's. Other than that, it's a stunning example of Japanese six-string ingenuity from the 1970s.
