Harmony H22/1 Hollowbody Double Cutaway Bass Sunburst 1970s
Harmony H22/1 Hollowbody Double Cutaway Bass Sunburst 1970s
A rare, all original Harmony H22/1 Bass from the 1970's in fantastic condition . Original hard case.
The first version of Harmony H22 was a single cutaway flat top hollow body bass, built from 1961 to 1968. From 1969 to 1972 it was replaced by the double cutaway H22/1 bass seen here. The H22/1 is fairly rare, most of the H22 examples are the older single cutaway models.
Some recording that this Harmony model was used on:
Small Faces had a hit single "Itchigoo Park" - this featured Ronnie Lane and a Harmony H22. The late Keith Ferguson used one in his last years. Spencer Davis Group's mid-1960s recordings, bassist Muff Winwood (Steve Winwood's brother) used this model.
From more recent recordings, check out Adele's "When We Were Young", there's a video on YouTube as well.
It's a fun bass to play and has that awesome 60's tone!
